My dad’s second wife who died in her 80’s about 20 years ago left this jacket to me. My dad only knew that she purchased it when she was much younger on a trip to China. I think it’s satin. Not silk. It is in perfect condition. My dad never saw her wear it and I’ve worn it once. The fabric is somewhat stiff as in “new”. The lining is soft and pliable. The edges are not frayed or worn in any way. The gold embroidery work is a metallic gold thread. The measurements from armpit to armpit are 23” lying flat. The measurement from shoulder to hem is 36” and the sleeves are 15” from armpit to end of sleeve. Please ask any questions before bidding and I will answer if I know the answer. There is some hand stitching but it escapes me that the butterflies could be hand embroidered. They are SO perfect. But I suspect that they are. The entire jacket looks like it was not machine made.
