I can totally see this over a black dress for a night on the town or even with some cool boots and blue jeans. Not positive this is silk but it feels very much like silk. The label is the Lily brand and it was made in China. This is a newer rather than older robe. But I do not know when it was made. It's tagged medium but based on the measurements I would feel safer saying it's an extra small to small. The measurement underarm to underarm is 19 inches. The seam across the back is 14 1/2 inches across. The sleeve length is 21 inches and from shoulder to hem is 25 inches. Has fancy frog closures and pockets. There is much symbolism in this robe from the Dragon and Phoenix theme (husband and wife). The flaming pearl as a symbol of knowledge is chased by the dragon. There are Peonies which are a symbol of spring and feminine beauty. This is in excellent shape. It might have a loose thread or two just because of the sheer amount of embroidery but really looks like it was never worn. Heavily embroidered with brightly colored birds and flowers.  Just has a happy feel to it.  Some things just make you smile when you see them and for me this is one of them.
